Family Health Center’s annual Back To School Bash is back, helping local kids get ready for school in a fun way while making sure their immunizations and dental screenings are up to date.
The Back To School Bash was Friday, Aug. 8, from noon to 6 p.m., at Family Health Center’s Paterson campus, 117 W. Paterson St.
Back to School Bash (B2SB) 2025 did NOT disappoint!!
Not only did we ensure that 1,200 children received well-child exams and dental screenings to be medically prepared for school, we also came together to celebrate community in a big way!
“The Bash offers a fun wrap-up to summer break while making sure families know their kids are healthy, immunized and ready to return to school,” Crawford said.
The Back To School Bash features games, attractions, refreshments, free backpacks with school supplies and self-care kits. Also available are information booths on health awareness and community support services. The Bash typically draws around 1,500 children, many from under-resourced families. FHC makes sure kids receive well-child services including immunizations. This ensures that those students start school healthy, ready to learn and able to stay in school, Crawford said.
Completed well-child checks and dental screenings for children ages 3-12 and up-to-date immunizations were required for all children who attended the Bash.
We also could not have had the amazing impact we did without the dedication of our 87 volunteers, who supported everything from medical care to clean-up. I’d also like to recognize our employees who worked on the committee this year, showed up for the event and helped get our kids medically ready for school.
We say it a lot, but TOGETHER WE THRIVE!
