I use a person-entered approach. I feel patients have the ability to solve any issue with the right support. I encourage cultural awareness when needed and help patients find their voice. I use many different approaches to therapy, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. With today's busy world I often use mindfulness techniques to find balance with the mental load. When working with children, I use play therapy, art, and sensory play to work through issues. I have experience in working with trauma, grief and loss, behavior problems, ADHD and family stressors. I also work in the schools with students through the Communities In Schools Program to provide mental health services. This program allows student to work on their mental health to then be able to focus on being productive academically.
