Our Events

Our team goes above and beyond to elevate the standard of care for our community members. In 2024 alone, our staff ensured that over 260 uninsured individuals received free dental care during our Dental Day of Caring, and 1,800 children were immunized and prepared for school during our Back-to-School Bash. Our staff also dedicate themselves to developing our local workforce through free training and education for individuals passionate about a healthcare career.

Back to School Bash

Family Health Center is committed to ensuring that all children between 3 – 12 years old in the community are immunized and have the resources they need to return to school prepared to learn. Each year, we welcome families to a carnival-like celebration with food, games, petting zoo, raffle prizes, and live DJ music. As an added bonus, every child receives a new backpack filled with school supplies and personal care kits.

Dental Day of Caring

Our annual Dr. Lisandra Soto Dental Day of Caring provides critical dental care to uninsured individuals, offering services like x-rays, dental exams, cleanings, extractions, and fillings. Since its creation in 2019, approximately 1,300 uninsured individuals have received dental care valued at over $500,000. Thanks to our dedicated staff, sponsors, and community volunteers, we provided free dental health services to more than 260 Kalamazoo residents during last year’s event. We are excited to continue the legacy this year and invite everyone to join us on our mission.

Women's Health Boutique

For four consecutive weeks in 2022, providers from different specialty areas hosted clinics designed to educate, screen, diagnose, prevent and treat a number of potentially dangerous health problems commonly experienced by women in our community. In addition to general health screenings, providers were able to screen for breast and cervical cancer, chlamydia and diabetes.
